The Regional Transportation District operates several different bus routes out of Superior from the US 36 / McCaslin Station West Side station. As of July 1, 2022, the US Census estimated the population of Superior to be around 13,392. It is considered a part of the Boulder Metropolitan Statistical Area. In December 2021, the unprecented Marshall Fire swept through Louisville, Superior, and Boulder County, destroying over 400 homes in Superior alone. Superior Rising is a local grassroots movement dedicated to rebuild efforts affected residents, businesses and workforce, while a new mixed-use vision for Downtown Superior is creating a welcoming and walkable new main street with 817,000 square feet of commercial and retail space, and 1,400 residential units, and 46 acres of outdoor recreation and open green space.
